4th Annual Zeitgeist Media Festival Features Live Music, Short Films, Comedy and Art, Promotes Social Consciousness Through the Power of Art

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Uniting the world through the power of art, the Zeitgeist Media Festival is back for its fourth annual Los Angeles event. Occurring at The Federal in North Hollywood, Saturday, October 4th, 2014 from 6pm-11pm, this not-for-profit activist arts festival features live music, comedy, short films, spoken word and more.

Recognizing the power of art and media to help shift consciousness, the annual Zeitgeist Media Festival bridges the artistic and activist communities in the hope to inspire change. It recognizes that deeply needed, radical changes in the structural/economic workings of society can only manifest in tandem with a personal transformation of values in each of us.

Prior years talent have included performances and presentations by singer/songwriter Cofield Mundi, world-renowned Sufi singer & composer Sussan Deyhim, Emmy-nominated TV writer ("Heroes", "Touch") Tim Kring, international best-selling author Marianne Williamson, Emmy-winning comedian Rick Overton, violin virtuoso and activist Lili Haydn, acting Icons Rutger Hauer & Charles Fleischer, Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Gary Nicholson and many more. Film short screenings, which are a large part of each festival, have featured James Cromwell, Jason Taylor, Mark Magidson, Jason Silva, George Langworthy and many more.

This year's socially-minded artists will include award winning comedians Rick Overton and Lee Camp; 'Zeitgeist' filmmaker & founder Peter Joseph and the sensational live music of Rooftop Revolutionaries, The Siren, Nomi Abadi, Heather Donovan, Ben Stewart, Captain Danger, the art of Mear One and many more performers, installations and short films. With dozens of performances and presentation, this five-hour event will be an inspiration for the socially concerned.

Reserve Tickets are recommended as tickets are expected to sell out quickly for this intimate venue. Attendees are also encouraged to contribute a small canned/sealed food donation to support the poverty stricken in Los Angeles in association with the LA Food Bank.
