451 Research Announces Additions to Its Analyst Team and Key Promotions

NEW YORK, June 6, 2012 — 451 Research, a leading analyst and data company focused on the business of enterprise IT, announced today the addition of three senior team members: Carl Lehman, Rhonda Ascierto and John Mazur. In addition, the company announced the promotion of Rachel Chalmers, William Fellows, Andy Lawrence and Simon Robinson, who all previously served as Research Directors, to the position of Research Vice-President.

451 Research announced the appointments of the following new analysts:

Carl Lehmann has joined 451 Research as Research Manager – Enterprise Architecture, Integration & Business Process Management. Prior to joining 451 Research, Carl was the founder and Principal Analyst of BPMethods, where he advised clients on business strategy and process management. His hardcover book, Strategy and Business Process Management: Techniques for Improving Execution, Adaptability, and Consistency was published in March 2012 by Taylor and Francis Group. Prior to BPMethods, Carl ran strategy and product management for a B2B integration firm where he developed SaaS and iPaaS offerings that managed e-commerce processes for more than 4,000 companies. He also spent 10 years as a Vice President of Research for IT advisory firms Gartner and META Group. Carl is based out of 451 Research's Boston office as a member of the Information Management research practice team.

Rhonda Ascierto is a Senior Analyst in the Datacenter Technologies and Eco-Efficient IT research practices. Rhonda has been analyzing the crossroads of IT and business for more than 12 years. She focuses on datacenter innovation and energy management in datacenters and across the enterprise, as well as on technologies that enable the efficient use of all resources and help minimize the environmental impact of business activity. Before joining 451 Research, Rhonda was a Senior Analyst in Energy and Sustainability IT at Ovum. Previously, she had a successful career as an IT reporter and editor at a number of well-known publications, mostly in Silicon Valley. Rhonda is based out of 451 Research's New York office.

John Mazur is a Senior Analyst in 451 Research's Networks practice, providing timely, in-depth perspectives on key trends and developments in enterprise networking, carrier networks, mobile infrastructure and their support systems. John's research themes include IP transformation, convergence, scaling, mobility and innovative industry players. John brings more than 20 years of ICT industry experience to his role at 451 Research, including consulting and as an Ovum and Gartner analyst covering next-generation service-provider networks. Prior to that, he was VP of Marketing and Business Development at an optical equipment startup, Alliance Director at Siemens AG and a strategic marketing manager at Fujitsu. Previously, he was a Member of Technical Staff at NYNEX Science and Technology. John's professional career began with a Bell System management development program at New York Telephone in Central Office Engineering. John is a member of the IEEE, has an MBA from New York Institute of Technology and a BS in Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York University. He is based in Connecticut.

451 Research also announced the promotions of the following analysts to the position of Research Vice-President:

Rachel Chalmers runs the Infrastructure Computing for the Enterprise practice and oversees all research on enterprise infrastructure software, from hypervisors, operating systems and file systems through provisioning and automation layers to application development, performance monitoring and lifecycle management.

William Fellows created and runs 451 Research's early-adopter research program with end users and innovators across a range of vertical markets for the CloudScape practice. Since 2000, he has identified and tracked early-adopter markets, including grid computing and virtualization adoption among enterprise users; since 2007, the program has been principally focused on cloud computing. In addition to the end-user constituency, William covers the suppliers — including vendors, integrators and service providers — in the cloud market.

Andy Lawrence runs the Datacenter Technologies and Eco-Efficient IT practices at 451 Research. He has researched widely in the field, covering areas such as eco-efficient IT, power management, policy, legislation, compliance, prefabricated datacenters, carbon foot-printing IT, and datacenter management and energy-efficiency software. Andy has represented 451 Research at the Green Grid, developed programs for the Uptime Symposium, and contributed to EU projects covering cloud services, eco-efficiency and datacenters.

Simon Robinson runs the Storage and Information Management practice at 451 Research, managing a team of analysts that help clients understand the impact of information growth and management on organizations, as well as identify the emerging trends and technologies that are helping organizations optimize and take advantage of their data and information.
