2012 Modern Day Marine Expo Teams with RecruitMilitary in Seeking Jobs for Veterans

WASHINGTON, June 4, 2012 — Businesses, public institutions, non-profit organizations and federal, state and local government agencies from throughout the United States have been encouraged to participate in the RecruitMilitary|MDM Veteran Career Fair, a major job recruiting event for transitioning service members and veterans. The job fair will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Marine Corps Base, Quantico, VA, on Wednesday, September 26, 2012.

The RecruitMilitary|MDM Veteran Career Fair will attract men and women from one of the largest and most capable pools of skilled workers available anywhere in the world – members of the Armed Forces about to return to civilian life and veterans who already have civilian work experience.

The event will be presented at Quantico by the 2012 Modern Day Marine Military Exposition in partnership with RecruitMilitary, a company founded in 1998 to serve members of the Armed Forces about to leave active duty as well as men and women who have already completed military service. The job fair will be on the second day of the three-day Modern Day Marine expo, which runs September 25 through 27.

Active duty service members and veterans participating in the RecruitMilitary|MDM Veteran Career Fair will include personnel departing service after just one contractual period of service as well as many other more seasoned professional military personnel about to be honorably discharged with decades of exceptionally diverse service. Nearly all will be graduates of military schools and training courses well beyond basic military training.

Many attendees will have had years of formal schools training in dozens of highly specialized fields such as computer technology, advanced communications, chemical and biological engineering, avionics, large-scale logistics management, and maritime operations and maintenance – among others. There will be college graduates, others still working toward degrees in a broad spectrum of disciplines and more who have attended extensive military schools courses.

Founded in 1998, RecruitMilitary is a full-service military-to-civilian recruiting company. It uses online and offline products to connect employers, franchisors and educational institutions with men and women transitioning from military to civilian life, veterans who already have civilian work experience, members of the National Guard and Reserve forces, and military spouses. Mr. Drew Myers, CEO of RecruitMilitary, said, "We've established working relationships with industry associations, non-profit organizations and government agencies, and maintain a comprehensive database of job candidates. It's a pleasure to now team with the Modern Day Marine Military Exposition in serving our transitioning military personnel and veterans."

Mr. Charlie Baisley, of the exposition, added, "We're thrilled to partner with Drew Myers and his team at RecruitMilitary to produce the job fair. Veterans' employment is a major priority for the President and all our service chiefs, including our Marine Commandant, General James F. Amos. With more than 500 exhibiting companies, the expo is a perfect venue to address the issue head-on."

The Modern Day Marine Military Exposition is the world's largest military equipment expo focusing on expeditionary equipment modernization and enhancement of amphibious capabilities. Marine Corps Base, Quantico, VA, is home of Marine Corps Systems Command and several other organizations dedicated to improving the Corps' warfighting equipment, systems and overall readiness.

The expo and career fair will be attended by thousands of Marines, Sailors, other members of the Armed Forces and veterans, including active duty and veteran Wounded Warriors, anxious to continue serving their country in civilian positions.
