"An undergraduate degree in business (or any of the related business disciplines) is by far the most  popular online degree. The basic skills taught in these online degree programs are valuable in almost every profession; employers are aware of this and hire accordingly," says Liz Robertson, lead editor for the piece and an Associate Editor of Nonprofit Colleges Online. "Graduates of business programs have average mid-career salaries that are higher than the mean for all bachelor's degree holders, and, due in part to the wide variety of concentrations offered with most undergraduate business degrees, a myriad of distinct careers are accessible to students after graduation, making their job outlook quite optimistic, even during an economic downturn. Additionally, an undergraduate degree in business is deemed the most logical stepping stone to an M.B.A."
