First single family home built as part of initiative to promote use of zero-net construction through web-based contact with consumers, builders and developers
CONCORD, N.H., April 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — RCMZeroEnergy.com has released a new SPRING 2014 Newsletter called "The Zero Net." The inaugural newsletter features the recently completed Zero Net Energy (ZNE) residence known as the ROSE Cottage Project, designed by The H L Turner Group Inc. The ROSE Cottage Project was the basis for winning the 2013 Marvin Architect's Challenge Showdown as well as a 2013 Bosch Green Living Award. The project was also featured by Bosch in January at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The home was completed in late 2012 and is located in a rural neighborhood in the capital city of Concord, NH. It contains a total of 3,100SF of interior finished space on two at-grade levels. In addition to being a net-zero home, this green building project features multi-generational use and aging-in-place features as part of a sustainable design that incorporates long life cycle values.
The ROSE Cottage Project was the first single family home built as part of the private RCMZeroEnergy.com educational initiative to promote the use of the zero-net construction through a web-based contact with consumers, builders, and developers. Zero-net construction is also attainable on commercial, industrial and institutional projects where the larger economy of scale helps to decrease the additional cost/sf of the renewable energy features required to balance the total energy equation.
