CONCORD, N.H., July 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — The H L Turner Group Inc. has been awarded US Patent No. 8,733,429 for its high efficiency "E-Max Hybrid™" solar-geothermal heating and/or cooling system design. The hybrid design can yield geothermal system performances upwards of a 7.5 effective COP (Coefficient of Performance), about twice that of conventional geothermal applications. Actual net energy cost reductions of up to 75% can be accomplished with the E-Max Hybrid™ design, along with total net reduction in CO2 emissions of nearly 70%. A ground loop geothermal version of the hybrid system was recently incorporated into the award winning zero- net-energy residence known as the ROSE Cottage Project, which was designed by The H L Turner Group Inc. using Bosch-Buderus heat pump and solar equipment. The project is featured on the RCMZeroEnergy.com website.

The ROSE Cottage Project was the first single family home built as part of the private RCMZeroEnergy.com educational website initiative to promote the use of the zero-net construction through web-based contact with consumers, builders, and developers, along with its free electronic newsletter "The Zero Net". Hybrid solar-geothermal heating and cooling systems are also applicable to commercial, industrial and institutional projects where the larger economy of scale helps to further decrease the additional cost/sf of the renewable energy features required to balance the total energy use equation.
