SXSW Attendees Get NFC Business Cards from Vizibility

Private Beta Opened Exclusively for 1,000 SXSW Event-Goers; Instantly Share Contact Info, Personal Online Content, Common LinkedIn Connections and More

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 24, 2012 — Vizibility Inc. announced today that the company has opened 1,000 spots in its private NFC beta program exclusively for attendees of next month's South by Southwest® (SXSW®) conference in Austin, Texas. Beta registration opens today at http://beta.vizibility.com and closes on March 5th. Only SXSW attendees are eligible. Fully functional prototypes of the personal NFC cards will be delivered to approved beta participants at their hotels prior to the start of the event.

NFC, which stands for Near Field Communication, is like a wireless QR code. QR codes are growing quickly in popularity and are appearing on a variety of materials from brochures and building permits to bios and business cards. Where QR codes use a smartphone's camera to read a special barcode, NFC uses short-range wireless transmission so no scanning is required. Simply touching an NFC-enabled smartphone to an NFC-enabled business card from Vizibility instantly brings up a rich, mobile-optimized microsite for that individual.

Vizibility helps people control, organize and share their online identities using SearchMe buttons, links, QR codes and, later in 2012, NFC codes and Microsoft TAGs. Vizibility is the leading online identity management platform for professional services firms of all sizes with clients including Dewey & LeBoeuf, Duane Morris, Loeb & Loeb, Lowenstein Sandler, McCarter & English, Novak Druce + Quigg and many others. Vizibility's SaaS platform is also integrated into other products and services including Hubbard One (a unit of Thomson Reuters), 6FigureJobs, BlueSteps, Salary.com and dozens of other websites offering professionals online identity management solutions.

Beta program participants will receive at no cost Vizibility's Premier service for one year; a personalized mobile microsite enabling users to automatically share contact information, mutual LinkedIn and Facebook connections, and personal online content; one personalized NFC business card prototype; QR code; NFC logo sticker for their SXSW attendee badge; metrics on their combined personal NFC and QR code usage; and SMS alerts whenever their NFC business card or QR code are scanned.

While NFC technology is in its infancy, smartphone manufacturers including RIM (Blackberry), Motorola, Samsung, HTC and Nokia offer NFC-enabled phones (http://bit.ly/evYFWo) supported by mobile operating systems from Google, Microsoft and Symbian. Bloomberg News has reported Apple may also support NFC in future versions of its products (http://bloom.bg/gatPXr).

The South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conferences & Festivals (March 9-18, 2012) offer the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies. Fostering creative and professional growth alike, SXSW® is the premier destination for discovery. Vizibility's NFC beta program is being conducted independently of SXSW.
