Marsha Levy is a dedicated community leader who is involved with numerous charities and is a strong supporter of Debbie's Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer.  She has known Debbie Zelman, President and Founder of DDF, since Debbie moved to Plantation in 1971; she considers Debbie to be her "hero in the community" and is really looking forward to being more active with DDF.

Marsha Levy was born in Tampa, Florida and has been a resident of Broward County for over fifty years. She attended the University of Georgia and received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Special Education from Florida Atlantic University. She was employed for many years in the Broward County school system and then worked privately specializing in learning disabilities remediation. Marsha has always been a passionate advocate for quality education and environmental improvement. Her interest has led to the development of programs which are being implemented today in Broward County.

In addition to DDF, Marsha's community and statewide service has included her commitment to HANDY (Helping Abused Neglected Dependent Youth), the 17th Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program, Broward College Foundation Board, State of Florida Highway Beautification Council, State of Florida Board of Bar Examiners (Emeritus member), and Greening Gateways (Chair). "I am excited to bring my experiences with my other community memberships to DDF," said Marsha Levy. "DDF has already grown so fast, and I am thrilled to be a part of its tremendous efforts to make the cure for stomach cancer a reality."

Marsha has received numerous individual awards commending her community involvement including DDF's Royal Poinciana Community Leadership Award at the Debbie's Dream Foundation Dream Makers Gala in 2013.  Other organizations that have recognized her leadership are: Legal Aid Society, Leadership Broward, NSU-Mailman Institute and Sun Sentinel.

Debbie Zelman founded DDF in 2009 after being diagnosed with Stage IV gastric cancer. Debbie's Dream Foundation seeks as its ultimate goal to bring attention and action to this important cause. The organization encourages people to spread the word about early detection and screening because if a patient is diagnosed at an early stage, the chances of being cured dramatically increase.
