Lakeshore Supports Early Education at NAEYC Public Policy Forum

CARSON, Calif., March 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Lakeshore, a national leader in creating innovative learning materials for schools and homes, announced today that it will be the Lead Sponsor for the National Association for the Education of Young Children's (NAEYC) Public Policy Forum, a members-only event featuring expert policy briefings, guest speakers, and interactive breakout sessions, and all advocacy and public policy sessions hosted at this year's National Institute for Early Childhood Professional Development and NAEYC's Annual Conference.

Grounded in the firm belief that every child deserves a high-quality early education, NAEYC's public policy work aims to mobilize a grassroots force to elevate the importance of early learning throughout the primary elections and beyond, as well as help shape public opinion about early learning issues facing the country.

Through Lakeshore's support and that of its other sponsors, NAEYC can:

  • Train volunteers and advocates from NAEYC Affiliates to expand electoral activities at the state and local levels
  • Ensure that more professionals committed to early learning attend presidential primary events
  • Organize and participate in voter registration drives, get-out-the-vote activities, phone banks, and other effective electoral advocacy tools
  • Mobilize NAEYC's social media network to advocate for children and influence the national conversation about the presidential election

Taking the lead in supporting advocacy for early childhood education, Lakeshore's President of Education, Kevin Carnes, will be speaking at the opening session of the 2016 NAEYC Public Policy Forum in Washington, D.C., February 29-March 1.

"Lakeshore is proud to partner with NAEYC to help raise awareness about the importance of early education," said Carnes. "We fully embrace their mission and look forward to helping them lay a foundation to support the brightest of futures for all children."
