The Kuali Foundation Announces General Availability of Kuali Ready

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Feb. 4, 2011 — The Kuali Foundation is pleased to announce the general availability of Kuali Ready, a service that supports continuity of operations planning for higher education. It is now fully available as a community-source, software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution. Delivered via a flexible, subscription-based model, Kuali Ready eliminates the need for users to buy, deploy, or maintain an on-premise software installation. In return for an annual subscription fee, the service is provided by affiliated hosting institutions through educational networks. Simply subscribe, and an instance will be established for your institution. You can begin using the service right away.

Released to partners and early-adopters in April 2010, Kuali Ready is currently in use by more than fifty colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. By utilizing the service, institutions of higher education become better prepared to sustain critical operations, including teaching and research, when confronted with a disruptive event of any type (e.g. flood, fire, criminal activity, technology failure, etc.). With a very low subscription cost and short deployment time, it offers customers an attractive and affordable solution to develop, track, maintain, and update continuity plans.

"With our innovative SaaS-based solution and flexible subscription model, we are reducing barriers to entry, minimizing complexity, and providing a service that helps facilitate the continuance of the higher education mission. As a result of the support and collaborative efforts within this community, the Kuali Ready project has achieved a significant milestone and delivered a service that satisfies an essential need," stated Gianni Carlo Contardo, Project Manager for Kuali Ready.

Built by higher education for higher education, subscriptions to Kuali Ready are obtained through the Kuali Foundation. For more information about Kuali Ready, go to: http://www.kuali.org/ready
