CARLSTADT, N.J., April 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — FlashRouters has made private networking and security the cornerstones of its service model. In recognition of the company's fifth anniversary — and appreciation for five straight years of sales growth — FlashRouters is offering customers a free upgrade to a one-year hardware warranty with their purchase for a limited time. Upgraded from the customary 90-days, this deal will save every buyer up to $50.

"With the continued focus on privacy and encryption, we think our services are more important and desirable than ever," says Joseph Soria, Co-founder of FlashRouters. "Our market reach has grown to include users at tech powerhouses like Google, Apple, Tumblr, Sony and M.I.T. – not to mention individual users who understand the value of secure, private networking."

As part of turbocharging the security profile of its products, FlashRouters installs an open source firmware (DD-WRT or Tomato) and offers free router configuration for virtual private network (VPN) usage. The company works closely with over 50 VPN providers, including ExpressVPN, IPVanish, HMA, and NordVPN, among others. All routers are plug-and-play capable, so users aren't burdened with any extra steps to get the most out of their equipment.

Overall, the company's unique process – carried out by U.S.-based networking experts – results in substantial performance improvements and lock-tight security. Customers also have the option of getting one-on-one remote expert assistance to upgrade an open-source compatible router they already own with a FlashRouters Support Plan.

FlashRouters recently launched a new website that features a Router Finder tool to help prospective users find the best router option for their needs. Today, the customer base numbers over 15,000, and includes both individuals and major enterprises. FlashRouters also works collaboratively with everyone from startups to Fortune 500 companies to create and implement custom networking solutions.

The open source community has been instrumental in helping FlashRouters bring enterprise-level data security and privacy to the masses. These developers created and maintain DD-WRT and Tomato, two of the leading open source router firmware alternatives. To encourage further innovative development projects, FlashRouters gives customers the option to donate at checkout, which the company matches dollar for dollar. So far, the program has paid out over $15,000 to open source developers.
