Study results will be presented at HIMSS 2011
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Feb. 21, 2011 — DIVURGENT, a national healthcare consulting firm with offices in Dallas, Texas and Virginia Beach, Virginia, has conducted an industry survey on business intelligence and analytical maturity within the hospital provider marketplace. The results of this industry-first survey will be released at this year's Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society 2011 Annual Conference, to be held in Orlando, Florida, February 20th through 24th. It is expected that over 25,000 attendees will be present at this year's conference. Results will be released and incorporated into a presentation to be delivered by DIVURGENT's Managing Partner Colin Konschak and Clinical Transformation Practice Director Mary Sirois. This presentation is titled, "Using Data to Transform Care and Build Competitive Advantage" and will be presented on Thursday, February 24th, 2011 at 11:15am EST. This is HIMSS Presentation #229.
The purpose of the study was to identify the levels of maturity within the hospital marketplace, in the areas of data analytics and business intelligence. DIVURGENT surveyed over 150 hospitals and health systems across the United States and followed up with interviews aimed at identifying best practices. After the survey results are released, DIVURGENT will finalize a report summarizing the data and discussing best practices identified. "We believe that those hospitals and health systems that excel in the area of business intelligence will create and sustain competitive advantage over the long term. The ultimate aim of this study is to identify best practices and create a roadmap that providers can follow to implement successful business intelligence capabilities." The survey results are used to develop the DIVURGENT Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Model (DIBIDA Model), which is a graphical representation of organizational maturity.
